  • Mr. P. N. Venkatachalam
  • P.N. Venkatachalam has over four decades of experience in the Banking sector in India and abroad and has also worked in the software industry in banking and finance verticals.

    He joined State Bank of India in 1967 and retired in 2004 as its Managing Director. He was a member of the interim Pension Fund Regulatory Authority of India.

    He holds a Master’s degree in Economics and is a Certified Associate from the Indian Institute of Bankers.

  • Ms. Vidya Shah
  • Vidya Shah is the CEO of Edelgive Foundation, an organisation set up by Edelweiss Group, with the aim of building the capacities of the not-for-profit sector. With over two and half years of rich industry experience, she has grown Edelgive Foundation into a platform for strategic philanthropy.

    Committed to creating sustainable institutions and organisations, she has brought the skills, resources, and talents of the for-profit world to the not-for-profit world.

    She has been the CFO for Edelweiss Group and has also worked with large financial institutions such as ICICI, Peregrine and NM Rothschild India, as an investment banker.

    Vidya has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

  • Mr. Venkatchalam Ramaswamy
  • Venkatchalam Ramaswamy, co-founder, Edelweiss Group, has almost three decades of experience in the financial markets. He has been one of the driving forces in transforming what was once India’s first new age boutique investment bank to a leading diversified financial conglomerate. Amongst his responsibilities, he also co-heads Edelweiss’s Advisory businesses.

    Venkat has been instrumental in building a client-need based solutions approach in the Distressed Asset Resolution as well as the Asset Reconstruction Company (ARC) business, which is India’s leading ARC. Using his skills at building and maintaining large institutional relationships including International Pension Funds and Insurance companies, the Alternative Asset Management business has earned the reputation of being among the largest in India.

    An MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, United States of America, he also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering.

  • Dr. Vikas Balia
  • A lawyer and rank holding Chartered Accountant with a passion for sustainable living ideas and a wide exposure to several areas of law, finance, management and policy making. He's the Founder of legalsphere and appears as an arguing counsel. He had set up a Knowledge process outsourcing company and also mentors a few start-ups.

    As an academician, his Phd has been in the area of securitisation and lectures on issues which sit at the confluence of his various areas of work.

    He founded the Desert Leaf Foundation with his sister and a close friend to undertake projects of lasting value. At the forefront of this endeavour has been a not-for-profit tennis academy and Kitaabo, the country's largest children's literature festival.

  • Mr. Dave Brochet
  • Dave Brochet graduated in Civil Engineering from Laval University and obtained an MBA from HEC in Montreal. He also holds the CFA and FRM designations.

    From 1998 to 2009, Dave was a senior member of the Private Equity group of CDPQ. Based in the Paris office of CDPQ from 2001 to 2005, Dave was responsible for the origination, deal execution, value creation and exit strategy of the PE investments in North America, Europe and Asia. Dave acted as a Board Director and member of Audit & HR committees of many Portfolio companies.

    Dave was Head of the Office of Investments of McGill University from 2009 to 2013 which provides management of the McGill University Pension Plan and Endowment Fund. He was responsible for the formulation and implementation of long-term investment strategies, selection and monitoring of fund managers, and ongoing management of risk and performance.

    From 2013 to March 2016, Dave led the risk function for a 25.0B$ Private Equity and 14.0Bs$ Infrastructure portfolio.

    From April 2016 to January 2019, Dave was based in Singapore as Managing Director of CDPQ’s regional office for Asia, with a mandate to lead, develop and maintain strong relationships with private and governmental key stakeholders in China and South-East Asia. He worked on investment opportunities with the different investment teams (i.e.Private Equity, Infrastructure, Fixed Income) in the selection of partners, due diligence and post-investment management.

    Since January 2020, Dave has joined the Private Equity Group of CDPQ in Montreal as Operating Partner. Responsible for the portfolio management of $6.0B USD worth of investments. Responsibilities include leading growth, P/L performance improvements, and building successful teams by partnering with privately held portfolio company senior management and co-shareholders.

  • Rajkumar Bansal
  • Raj Kumar Bansal, a Chartered Accountant joined IDBI in December 5, 1983 as a Management Trainee. He holds more than 33 years of experience covering both development banking and commercial banking, which includes 8 years in the top management team as Executive Director of IDBI Bank. Mr. Bansal retired from IDBI Bank on March 15, 2017. Mr. Bansal was the Chairman of CDR Empowered Group and a member of Top Management Committees – Credit, Policy, System, Product and Process, ALCO, RBS Committee, HR, Internal Advisory, Fraud Review, Audit Committee of Executives, Investment Committee, etc. Have broad and diversified experience in all functional areas of banking such as Corporate Banking, Project Appraisal, Corporate Debt Restructuring [CDR], Retail Banking, International Banking, Finance & Accounts [CFO], Resources, Recovery, Investments, Treasury, Operations, etc. as top team leader. His major strength and experience is in resolving stress assets. He has been handling many of the large stressed groups/accounts and exposure as CDR EG Chairman has added to the experience. This is further strengthened as Chairman of ARCIL. He was also the member of Standing Committee on Retail Banking of Indian Banks Association (IBA). Previous board membership includes IDBI Federal Life Insurance Co. Ltd., ISIL, J.K. Lakshmi Cement Ltd., Uttam Value Steels Ltd., SIDBI, IDBI Asset Management Ltd., NSDL and NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd. Mr. Bansal was also deputed by IDBI as a Director to Stockholding Corporation of India Ltd. (SHCIL), IDBI Mutual Fund (now renamed as Principal Mutual Fund) and IDBI Federal Life Insurance.
